Heineken beer brand, Sol, is inviting Londoners to enjoy a Sol in the sun at the light-filled bar to combat the autumn blues.
National research stats reveal that 41% of UK adults state they do not get 30 minutes of sunlight a day during winter, and almost 9% state they get no sunlight at all during the winter months.
To combat this, the Sol Bar will extend the British summertime by giving visitors the space to reconnect with ‘the scents, sounds and warm breeze of the summer air.’ The sun has always been integral to Sol’s Mexican heritage since launch in 1899, when the original master brewer, upon seeing a ray of sunlight hit the beer, designed to name it after the sun, crowning it ‘El Sol’, later becoming ‘Sol’.
Guests will receive two complimentary drinks to choose from the Sol or a Sol Chelada cocktail.
Alexander Drake, Senior Brand Manager for Desperados and Sol at Heineken UK, says: “Our research found that people in the UK don’t get enough sun and as Sol is all about the positive energy of the sun, we wanted to create a cool bar that brought this to life. The Sol Bar is a unique space that plays on all the senses and encourages Brits to embrace the brilliant benefits of the sun when there isn’t any, invigorating them with a shower of sunshine as autumn settles in.”
