Design brand, The Conran Shop is collaborating with Pinterest to deliver an innovative, multi-faceted experience for consumers in celebration of London Design Festival 2018. The experience will enable shoppers to engage with the inspiration they see in-store and take action with a personalised shopping journey – powered by Thinfilm’s integrated Near-Field Communication (NFC) technology.
The two brands are coming together to ‘blur the boundaries between the physical and digital worlds,’ presenting customers with a pathway lined with 1,600 re-topped ceramic Pinterest pins. This will then lead visitors into the store to discover The Conran Shop’s range of products.
The experience is activated by touching a smartphone to a featured product, which can then automatically be added to a “Conran Wishlist” on the customer’s personal Pinterest board, presenting a unique opportunity to create, curate and share tailored mood boards while browsing the store.
Customers will be able to interact with the installation through Pinterest pin-codes, which will be featured on products throughout the store. Customers can scan these codes with the Pinterest app camera and discover ideas, products and other content on the site from various brands including The Conran Shop.
